Feeding your baby from 6 months

In short: From six months, babies need other foods as well as breast milk. Start soft, start small, and add variety.

What to do

  1. Keep breastfeeding as often as your baby wants.
  2. Start with thick porridge or mashed foods 2 to 3 times a day.
  3. Add an animal food every day if you can: egg, milk, fish or liver.
  4. Add mashed beans, green vegetables and orange fruits.
  5. Wash your hands and your baby's hands before eating.
